The third talk will be given by Rachel Ayrton, Learning & Interpretation Manager at the King Richard III Visitor Centre. Over the past eight years, she has built an award-winning learning programme and visitor experience at the Centre. Rachel has over 18 years of experience working in the Learning and Participation sector, in local authority, privately funded charitable trust, and independent charitable trust settings. Rachel will present the volunteer programme at King Richard III Visitor Center while she will tell in more detail how her team designed this programme and give some tips on how to start one.
Volunteers are a core part of our team at the King Richard III Visitor Centre. We set up our volunteer programme in 2014 when the centre first opened, capitalising on the huge amount of interest in the story of Richard III's discovery. Our volunteers range from retired professionals in their 70s to undergrads in their teens, and what they all share is the same
passion for our amazing story.
